Melanie is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Business Development Director at Columbia, where she guides long-term corporate strategy, drives market growth, and cultivates high-value client partnerships. A proud member of the snpink’tn (Penticton) Indian Band, Melanie brings a rare combination of scientific insight and legal acumen to the executive suite. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law and is a member of the British Columbia Bar.
As CEO and Director, Melanie oversees strategic market expansion, client-tailored solutions, and corporate operations. She serves as the core connection point for stakeholders and colleagues alike, managing project workflows, budgeting, and workplace inclusion initiatives while providing critical support to Columbia’s environmental team.
Beyond the corporate boardroom, Melanie is an influential leader in provincial sports. A former competitive gymnast and collegiate cheerleader, she translates her passion for team building into local athletics as the Head Coach and Program Director for UBC Thunderbirds Cheerleading and a Director for BC Sport Cheerleading. Her dedication to community development was recently honored with the Sport BC Community Sport Hero Award.
